Meet Angie

I’m Angie Janutolo, a licensed mental health counselor with nearly two decades of experience helping people navigate the complicated, meaningful and sometimes messy work of being human. I believe meaningful change often begins with feeling genuinely understood—with space to become curious about ourselves, recognize the patterns shaping our lives and consider what we want to do differently.

My Approach

My Approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practice. Over nearly two decades as a counselor, I’ve learned that good therapy is not about applying a formula to a person. It’s about understanding the person in front of you and thoughtfully drawing from approaches that fit their needs, experiences and goals.

My work is informed by cognitive-behavioral, polyvagal, mindfulness-based, trauma-informed and experiential approaches with attention to the connection between our thoughts, emotions, relationships, experiences and our nervous system.

The Cultivation Collective

The Cultivation Collective grew from a belief that growth isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about understanding yourself more fully, becoming intentional about what matters to you, and creating a life that reflects it.

Professional Background

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Indiana and a licensed professional counselor in Michigan, with nearly two decades of experience in mental health counseling. My background includes private practice, university counseling, and community-based mental health care.

In addition to Indiana and Michigan, I hold authorization to provide telehealth counseling to clients located in Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota and Ohio.

My professional training includes EMDR, mindfulness-based and trauma-informed approaches with additional certifications in DBT, grief and loss, anxiety, polyvagal theory and trauma, and ADHD. Additionally, I am trained in the administration and interpretation of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory.

A little more human

When I am not working, you’ll usually find me outside, traveling, playing pickleball, creating something, enjoying good food, or spending time with the people and dogs I love. I believe a meaningful life includes room for curiosity, connection, adventure, rest—and plenty of joy!
